For Indie Authors
You wrote a book. Sell it online too — your rights, your prices, your reader list.
You wrote the book. Maybe you printed copies through a local press. Maybe you also have an EPUB. KDP takes 30% and locks you to Amazon. Notion Press wants ₹15K-2L upfront and keeps 60% of every sale. Your friends are buying from you over WhatsApp.
BookStand is built for the in-between. List your ebook for instant download. List your print copies for shipping. List signed copies at a premium. All on one product page. Buyers see ‘Buy ebook · Buy paperback · Get it signed’ in one click each.
You keep your rights. You set your prices. We don't take a cut on direct sales — only a small commission when we bring you a buyer. Free to start.
Upload an EPUB, set a price, set a cover. Buyers can purchase and download instantly. No 90-day exclusivity contracts, no algorithm games. Sell on BookStand and anywhere else you want — at the same time.
Got 100 paperbacks from your last print run? List them with a stock count. As buyers order, the count decrements. You ship from home. We notify the buyer with tracking. No warehouse, no fulfilment fees.
Some readers want a signed copy. List a separate edition at a higher price. ‘Signed by author’ on the listing. Sign and ship when ordered. Pure margin.
Every buyer becomes someone you can reach again — for the next book, for a launch event, for a newsletter. KDP doesn't tell you who bought your book. We do.
You keep all rights. No exclusivity, no platform lock-in.
You set the price. We don't auto-discount or undercut you.
Free to start. We only earn when we bring you a sale.
Sell ebooks, print, and signed copies on the same product page.
Reader-list ownership: every buyer is yours to keep in touch with.
Print + ISBN service available if you want us to handle it (via BookPrinter).
No. ISBN is optional on BookStand. If you have one, list it. If you don't, your book still publishes and sells. (You'll need an ISBN if you also want to distribute through Amazon, IngramSpark, or libraries — which we can help with through our publishing service.)
Yes. There's no exclusivity clause. Sell on BookStand, KDP, your own site, in person — all at once. Many of our authors do exactly that.
Free to list. We take a small commission on sales we bring you (similar to a referral fee). On direct sales — when you send a buyer to your BookStand link yourself — we take nothing on the digital portion. Print sales include payment processing fees as standard.
Stripe Connect for global authors, Razorpay for Indian authors. Payouts weekly to your bank account. UPI / cards / netbanking accepted from buyers.
Add our publishing service: we print, assign an ISBN, and (optionally) distribute through KDP and IngramSpark on your behalf. Pricing is per-project, not a revenue cut.
Gumroad is great for digital. BookStand handles digital + physical book sales together, plus the used-book marketplace, in one product page. If you only sell ebooks, Gumroad and BookStand are comparable. If you sell print too, BookStand is built for it.
Free to start. No credit card required.
